what is soma?

  • Soma is a locally owned massage business, currently operating out of my home.  Like many of the vendors you met at the Community Market last weekend, we are still starting out. This means that your business means a LOT to us, and we're here to make sure you're being taken care of.

    Soma is owned by Amber Briggle, and employs two other massage therapists: Christy Harris, and Lacey Vanderbilt.  All three of us bring a different approach to massage therapy, though we all do deep tissue therapy to some degree or another.  We also offer hot stone, prenatal/postpartum, sports, integrative, Swedish, and on-site chair massage.  You can find out more about us here!

what makes us different

  • We don't take tips!  The work that we do here at Soma not only feels good, it's therapeutic.  You don't tip your chiropractor or physical therapist, so why would you tip us?

  • Our hour massages are NOT 55 minutes long.  In fact, a typical hour-long massage is usually closer to an hour and a half appointment.  This is because we take our time with you, listening to your particular needs and concerns before you even get on the table. THEN you get your FULL HOUR of bodywork.  Afterwards, we allow lots of time for you to rest, breathe, and prepare yourself before we re-enter the room at the end of your session. Before you leave, we typically offer "homework" for you -- stretches, exercises, or tips on how to keep your massage lasting as long as possible. Do you get that much attention at your other massage studio?

  • We listen!  We know that every person is different, and that your needs are going to change session to session.  We don't have a set "routine" that we do -- we specialize every massage to you, your needs, and your feedback. Please let us know if we can change anything to make you more comfortable and we'll be happy to accommodate you!

  • We are locally owned, meaning you'll get more of a personalized approach to your massage and your continued relationship with us.
