“Can I use my HSA, Flex, or medical insurance?”
Soma Massage Therapy is not affiliated with any insurance provider and we do not do any medical coding or billing. However, we are listed as “medical massage”, which gives you the option of paying for your appointments using your HSA card or Flex account. (Check with your insurance provider to find out more about what your plan covers.)
We also have some clients who have successfully submitted forms to their insurance companies to apply for reimbursement payments. We can’t promise that your insurance company will do the same for you, but we encourage you to give them a call anyway and find out what the procedure might be.
We are happy to provide any documentation you might need to seek reimbursement: invoices, letterhead, and/or charts. We do chart every single appointment and can provide you with copies as needed.

Aromatherapy
Add this to any massage for only $5.
We use high quality essential oils which not only smell good, but are good for you. Essential oils have healing plant properties that, especially when combined with a massage, can enhance relaxation, support the immune system, encourage balance between mind, body, and spirit, and can boost the body’s natural ability to heal and regenerate tired or damaged tissues.
Cupping Massage
Cupping can be added to your massage for an additional $10.
Massage cups are placed over tight areas of the body, gently suctioning the tense tissues up into the cups, and creating a bit of space between the bottom of the muscle and the top of the bones. This allows for more circulation and the drainage of lymph, as well as gently pulls on the tight fascia to release the tension in the area. While the cups are placed over that area, the massage therapist is massaging another area of your body. When it’s time to release the cups a few minutes later, your therapist will then massage the area that was just released, to create even more relaxation and encourage the healing process. Soma Massage Therapy offers both “regular” cupping and fire cupping.
Couples Massage
What could be better than enjoying an hour or more, side by side with your sweetheart, enjoying a relaxing, rejuvenating massage together? Couples have the option to book their massage either in the same room, or in separate rooms. Soma is a welcoming and inclusive environment, and all couples are welcome here. #lovewins
Book your session for any length of time from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
Deep Tissue
Our specialty! We don’t want to just rub lotion on you for an hour and kick you out the door a little bit greasier than when you arrived! Our therapists are competent, skilled, and comfortable with deep tissue massage.
Each therapist is going to have their own particular approach to deep tissue — some will do more trigger point work. Some will stretch you out more. Some will use their elbows, while others use their knuckles or forearms. No matter what, though, every therapist here is able to deliver a deep tissue massage, so you can wake up tomorrow knowing that some serious work was just done on those traps/glutes/hamstrings/neck of yours!
Please let your therapist know what level of pressure you prefer – if you need it lighter, we can certainly accommodate that too. Our priority is YOU!
Lymphatic Massage
A light, stimulating yet relaxing massage to encourage the proper flow of lymph. If you are feeling stagnant, sluggish, or bloated, lymphatic massage may benefit you. This modality is deeply detoxifying and boosts your body’s immune response and overall health, since it focuses primarily on the lymphatic system.
Prenatal Massage
Countless scientific studies have proven the benefits of prenatal massage for both parent and baby – higher birth weights, shorter labor and delivery time, and a healthier blood pressure just to name a few!
Whether you have been pregnant or 9 days or 9 months, it’s important to let us know. There are a number of contraindications that we need to consider as your massage therapists, so even if you haven’t told your family that you’re expecting, please tell us so we can pair you with a massage therapist who is specially trained in prenatal massage!
Though those bolstering systems that allow the pregnant parent to lay face down despite a large belly are well-intentioned, there have been conflicting studies about the safety of those systems. Therefore, once you “pop”, we will bolster you in a side-lying position (similar to how you sleep). This reduces strain on the low back and round ligaments, and doesn’t compromise circulation for the parent or baby, making it safer for both of you.
Please speak with your OB or midwife prior to your first prenatal massage so that we can all be in communication together when it comes to the care of you and your baby.
Reflexology
Reflexology can be added to any appointment, or as a stand-alone session, for an additional $10
Did you know that all of the major organs and systems have corresponding pressure points in the hands and feet? Reflexology is a wonderful addition to any massage, as it supports the entire body and is ideal for those clients who may have mobility issues and can’t lay face down or turn over very easily during their massage.
Most reflexology sessions last between 15 – 30 minutes, so this could easily be incorporated into any one hour (or longer) massage appointment, or as a separate session for just 30 minutes.
Sports Massage
Because sports massage is more labor intensive for your massage therapist, we request an additional $10 for this modality.
Perfect for pre- or post-event, a sports massage can help wake up your muscles or help you recover after a competition. Please come prepared with loose fitting clothes since there is a lot of stretching and movement involved.
Hot Stone
Hot stones can be added to any massage for just $10
You know how good your muscles feel when you put a hot pack on them? Yeah. That.
Polished, heated river rocks are incorporated into your massage to help create a deeper and more therapeutic level of relaxation and alignment. The application of heat (and, when needed, cold) can assist with lymphatic drainage, can more quickly break up adhesions and scar tissue in the muscle fibers, and increases circulation in otherwise-stagnant areas. For a quick tutorial on how we use the various stones during a massage, check out our You Tube video here.
Swedish
By using lighter, more general strokes such as effleurage and petrissage, a Swedish massage can increase circulation, boost the immune system, and leave you feeling deeply relaxed.
